SAVE LIVES!

Exposure to carbon monoxide can be fatal before you are even aware that it’s in your
home! Protect your family from this very scary possibility!
“You can’t see or smell carbon monoxide, but at high levels it can kill a person in minutes,”
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
At lower levels of exposure, CO causes mild effects that are often mistaken for the flu.
Protect Your Family!
No home should be without a carbon monoxide alarm to detect deadly leaks.
Remember, larger and split-level homes will require more alarms.
It’s a good idea to set a date that you routinely replace the battery every year.
How You Can Reduce Carbon Monoxide Exposure:
Every year you should have a professional inspection of all fuel burning appliances,
including furnaces, stoves, fireplaces, clothes dryers, water heaters and space heaters.
• Make sure fuel burning appliances are installed by a professional and are working
properly.
• Do not idle your car inside the garage. Auto, truck, or bus exhaust from attached garages,
nearby roads, or parking areas can also be a source of carbon monoxide poisoning.
• Choose vented appliances whenever possible.
• Never run a generator, pressure washer or any gasoline-powered engine in an enclosed
Structure even with open doors and windows.
