Congratulations! You’ve finally decided to make the big move. Whether it’s across town, or across the country, you can make moving easier with these helpful packaging tips.
Use Packing Paper and Moving Boxes
Avoid using old newspapers to wrap your items, as the ink may rub off your valuables. Use white packing paper instead.
Also, rather than collecting various boxes in random sizes, consider using professional moving boxes. They are typically better quality than old grocery boxes, and standard size will make loading a moving truck that much easier.
Don’t Procrastinate Your Packing
It may seem like you have plenty of time, but that time will be gone before you know it. A few weeks before your move, start packing a couple of boxes a day, starting with your least-used items.
Clearly Label Each Box
Using packing labels, clearly describe what’s in each box and what room it belongs to. Using different colored markers for different rooms will help keep you organized.
Pack by Room
Spend your time wisely by packing one room at a time. You’ll spend less time running from room to room and you’ll keep items that belong together in the same boxes.
Remember, a move is a new and exciting opportunity! Anything you can do to make the process easier on yourself will also make it that much more enjoyable.
